Blurb:
One night of shadows. One night of bliss. One night when
it all falls apart.
Katherine Regina Vandercamp has everything. Wealth. Beauty. Social standing. She’s the heiress to the Vandercamp fortune and engaged to the man of her dreams. One night it all shatters…
Finding her fiancé with another woman, she is distraught and makes a reckless decision to go with a friend to a sex club. Needing total anonymity, she has sex with a stranger in a room of total darkness, a sensuous cocoon of silky shadows. She has no idea who this man is or what he looks like. But it is in the shadows she finds solace. In the shadows she finds bliss.
She can’t forget this stranger’s touch, his taste, his scent. He infiltrates her dreams and holds her thoughts and body captive. But has she made a false assumption about her fiancé? Was he truly unfaithful? She regrets her hasty actions and is tormented by guilt. She is determined to marry the man she loves and forget her stranger.
Sinister events unfolded at the sex club. There was a gruesome murder and her stranger has been charged with the crime. Katie knows he’s innocent because she was with him at the time of the murder. She is more shocked to find that he’s not a stranger after all. What will she do? Will she reveal her horrible secret? Will she besmirch the Vandercamp name? Will she risk losing the man who has her heart to save the man who’s touched her soul?
Her life is in turmoil. All because of that one night.
A night that was wrapped in shadows...

A HAUL FAIRY BOOK REVIEW
Characters:
Katherine
Regina Vandercamp (Kate) is a goody two-shoes socialite from
New York City. She’s selfless and compassionate. She loves her job the most, as
a fundraiser of her family’s foundation. I found her a bit gullible, sometimes
I do a facepalm when I read her POV’s and I want shake her and say “You’re
doing it wrong!”
Luke Davenport is a successful and responsible single
dad. He built his company from scratch
and he’s Josh’s boss. Uh – oh. Did I
mention that he is hot hand smells like sandalwood?
Josh (Kate’s fiancé)
is a big d-bag. He’s a cheating lying bastard who only thinks of himself most
especially, his penis.
Michelle is Kate’s
best friend. I like her personality, she’s witty, liberated and she
has a good advice for Kate on how to handle things
Plot:
The story revolves on Kate and her selflessness. She decides
to let loose her entire burden in one night of fun (which is a bad move, if I
may say so myself) after she dumps her fiancé (it’s justified, we tend to do
irrational things when we are under stress). She also decides to go to a sex
club and have sex with a stranger in a lights-off room. Here’s the catch, a
murder happens in the sex club and Mr. Stranger in a light-off room is the
primary suspect. How could she save him without ruining her reputation and without losing
her job?
Verdict:
I give it a 4 fairy wings. I’m glad actually that this has a
good plot. Mostly in erotica genre, they are engaged in worthless meaningless
sex over and over to the point that it’s already tiring to read and disgusting
that I wish I skipped that part or the whole book instead. However, this is
good. The sexual parts are not filthy. There’s a variety. Every scene is different from the other and
it didn’t focus on that alone. There’s depth and there’s meaning. All in all,
this book is written pretty good!
