❤❤❤ FIVE WAYS TO FALL (Ten Tiny Breaths #4) by K.A. Tucker: A Midnight Fairy Book Review ❤❤❤

Synopsis:

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

Review

❥The Characters:

Ben is such a charming character. He's cocky and arrogant but he's also a mama's boy. We've known Ben as this easy going employee/ law student in the previous novels. Five Ways To Fall is set right after Ben finished law school, his post-bouncer days at Penny's. So, the mood is a little different because the hero is placed on a different work environment, which I think made the book a lot more interesting. In this book we were shown why Ben is a player and such a commitment phobic despite how happy and easy going he usually appears like.

Reese is a complex character. Which makes sense because the girl have been through a lot. She have abandonment issues since forever. So, when she caught her husband cheating on her, she just got fed up and ended in jail (due to destruction of private property). Reese is rebellious and impulsive  but she's also smart and passionate. I didn't immediately liked her character but as I read along I began to understand where she's coming from and I'm so glad she has Jack. Reese was at that moment when she needed guidance and a chance to redeem herself, and I'm happy that Jack was there to lend her a hand.

❥The Story:

It was beautiful, definitely my favorite in the series. Five Ways To Fall made it to my top reads list of 2014! It has just the right amount of drama and romance with a dash of humor. If you have read the other books in the series, most of them are dark, twisted and very emotional. This book is quite different, I find Five Ways To Fall refreshing and such a delightful read.

❥The Romance:

OMG, the meet-cute was hilarious! Reese and Ben first met in Cancun. Ben was celebrating with his friends for finishing law school while Reese is celebrating her 21st birthday. Reese hated Ben on sight and Ben took it as a challenge, the conversation between the two was really funny. Anyway, despite the love-hate moment the two shared, they ended up spending the night together--- in which nothing happened aside from Reese upchucking her stomach contents on Ben's red shirt. Reese was so relieved that he will never see the guy again, but fate has other plans because two weeks later she sees him again on her new workplace!

I absolutely loved the romance in this book, the two are so different yet they fit together. I also love the fact that their relationship (romantic) didn't develop in haste. They started as friends, which gave them both time to resolve their personal issues and past relationships. It was nice to witness their relationship evolve, from friends to something more. I really enjoyed it.

❥Rating: 5 Fairy Wings! The book is highly recommended to NA Romance readers. You don't have to read the entire books in the series to enjoy Five Ways To Fall, it's a stand-alone. So, go and grab your copies now!
