I have to admit that World After is not as good as Angelfall. However, for a sequel, its pretty darn good. I know a lot of people were disappointed about how Penryn reacted towards Paige condition. If you all remember, Paige was one of those kids experimented in the old aerie lab. Now, Paige is no longer a vegan and she can also walk but people in the camp are afraid of her. I think Penryn couldn’t handle the change in Paige that she couldn’t even look at her sister in the eye. It just broke me. I feel so much for Paige, specially when the survivors in the camp tried to kill her. Penryn and Paige reminds me so much of Katniss and her sister Prim of THG. I just hope that Paige will have a better fate than Prim. Anyway, I think this is one of the best parts of the book– the “sisterly love” part. I have an older sister too, I can totally relate.
I love the action! Specially when Raffe and Penryn reunited. Also, the scene between Paige and Beliel was out of this world. Seriously, I don’t know if I’m horrified or awed (maybe both?) by what Paige did,but yeah, it was CRAZY And the scene after that… (Penryn and Paige moment) *sigh*
I very much enjoyed this book and I think that it’s really worth the wait. I like the fact that the ending isn’t a cliffhanger. Yes, its obvious that the story Isn’t finished yet, but at least the main characters are together in the end. Also, Raffe got his wings back and they found their secret weapon (Paige!!!) in the upcoming war.
World After is a great read. I highly recommend this series for those who love sci-fi, dystopian and post apocalyptic novels.

In this sequel to the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what's left of the modern world.
When a group of people capture Penryn's sister Paige, thinking she's a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.
Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels' secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.
Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can't rejoin the angels, can't take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

“You broke me out of the grasp of a living horror when I thought all hope was gone. You gave me the opportunity to crawl back to life when no one else could.”
She glances over at me, her eyes shining in the dark.
“You’re a hero, Penryn, whether you like it or not.”
Now let’s talk about Raffe and the demon wings in the cover. Yep, he still has it but he’s not giving up in retrieving his old wings back. He wasn’t present during the first part of the book but he comes up occasionally through the angel sword’s memories. Speaking of the angel sword, the poor thing was named Pooky Bear! I can’t even aksdjhfaslkdjhf. Despite the demon wings. Raffe is as awesome as ever.
