A Rock Chick Fairy book review
(An advance copy was given to me in exchange for an honest review)
Midnight Soul gets you right in the heart. ❤
This book made me happy, sad, angry and then happy again! It sure is a roller coaster ride.
Franka is a big surprise. If you asked me a couple of years ago if I would love her character, I would have laughed at you for saying something so preposterous. She was this little villain. I admit to hating her in Broken Dove. She was so weird in an anger-rising way. At that time, I couldn’t imagine liking her even a little. However, the author has managed to turn night into day. She made me love Franka in many, many ways. For one, she’s LOYAL to the core. If you haven’t read this book, you may say that she’s soooo not, but I tell you.. She is. She really is. She’s also so very special. She cares. Sometimes too much. What you gotta look forward to is just how adorable she could be. YES, ADORABLE. WATCH OUT!! I swear, I smiled myself silly because of her!!! ;)
Noc on the other hand, is as dashing and as brave as ever. No question about that. What surprised me about him though, is the level of understanding that he has about Franka. He totally keeps an open mind when it comes to her. He also knows her inside out. Some may say that it sounds like this book is all about Franka, but no. I think this book is also a great “in” to the character of Noc. Here he proves that he’s also A PRINCE. :) He’s my kind of prince!!! He’s HANDSOME (yes, ALL CAPS!), HOT (yes, CAPS again haha!), loyal, loving, understanding, brave and amazing in all things that count! He’s perfect in my world.
Their circumstance might not be ideal, what with two worlds keeping them apart, but they still manage to get together in an epic way! They’re amazing with each other and damn sweet!!!
The other characters from the previous books are also here to support them. It’s great!!! It’s awesome to know what they’ve all been up to!
With all the conflicts that this book has to offer… My only take on it is that in the end…
LOVE CONQUERS EVERYTHING!!!!
What an epic end to an epic series. It sure is something! In my humble opinion, this is the best series that KA has to offer by far. If you like epic romances, a love that changes odds and a love that finds you so sudden that it takes your breath away… Then yes, Franka and Noc’s story is for you.
5 EPIC STARS!!!!!!!!!!
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Nothing's changed.
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
