Synopsis:
Gemma McDougall is certain about three things: One, she’s never going to lose her Latina ass. Two, her career is more important than the crappy (and nonexistent) relationships she’s had to endure her entire adult life. Three, she’s going to get the next promotion to detective if it kills her. But then her job literally almost kills her, and she’s forced into unwanted medical leave.
Sam London is certain about three things: One, he has no idea how to have a normal adult relationship and will likely die cold and alone, ravaged by wild dogs. Two, playing a game of Drinking Jenga, while fun, also leads to late nights sneaking into the neighbor’s yard and getting held at gunpoint by the neighbor’s daughter. Three, he has no idea what kind of trouble Gemma McDougall has gotten herself into, but he’s going to be a part of it, no matter what.

Hi guys! Were back! Yours truly and Sunburst Fairy will be doing a review convo of the latest Mary Frame book: Practically Imperfect. This is the third novel from the Imperfect Series. So, here it is!
Midnight Fairy: First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Frame for sending us a copy. Thank you for remembering us! xoxo
Sunburst Fairy: I honestly jumped up and down when I heard about this book being sent and said we all can read it.. I mean, OMG, Practically Imperfect! So, YES thank you, Ms. Frame for the copy!
Midnight Fairy: I liked it. It's giving you a picture of a happy ending. So, that's a thumbs up for me.
Sunburst Fairy: Yes, that's true. I actually told myself, this book will be GOOD just by looking at the cover! It's just plain promising.
❥ What can you say about the story line?
Midnight Fairy:Well, the heroine - Gemma is a police officer. So, it followed the same design of the previous book. There's a mystery to solve and Sam, the hero is going to be involved in the process of resolving the issue. It didn't surprise me that it became a sort of mystery/crime romance novel. It's part of a series after all. But, it was a good one. It reminds me of the TV series Castle, which I love BTW.
Sunburst Fairy: Yes, actually, it arrived like a RomCom to me and I liked it. Reading it was fun and I've been giggling like a teenager throughout the story, for reals
❥ One word to describe the main characters:
Midnight Fairy: Gemma is a bad-ass and Sam is a goofball.
Sunburst Fairy: Gemma- kickass. Sam- goofball, definitely!
❥ Any thoughts about the "romance" in the story that you want to share?
Midnight Fairy: I think that went really well. It's cute that Gemma and Sam were neighbors through out their childhood years. The romance progressed smoothly and I think they are just the perfect fit, despite the imperfect situation they were in. Sam didn't feel intimidated nor he undermines her career. Gemma needed someone who understands what she does and takes her as she is. Also, Gemma's life is too serious, she needed someone sweet and fun to be around with, someone like Sam.
Sunburst Fairy: True, that went really well. I mean, they were totally made for each other. They gave each other the balance in each other's lives. They simply FIT, which is nice.
❥ What can you say about the secondary characters?
Midnight Fairy: OMG, thanks Ms. Frame for including the whole gang on this book. I like knowing that the other couples from the previous books are still very happy and in love. Also, I'm so glad Ted found a partner in Tony. They are such a cute couple.
Sunburst Fairy: Yes, I was gonna say that too! Haha. I am happy to hear about Freya and everyone, but I am more than happy for Ted. Tonyyyy and LUCY! Haha. Shes my favorite secondary character
❥ What is your favorite scene?
Midnight Fairy: Mine is the part where they saw each other again after so many years. Sam was drunk after having a drinking Jenga session with the gang and tried to steal the plow again. Then here comes Gemma threatening him with a squirt gun. It was funny and cute at the same time.
Sunburst Fairy: The part where they were thinking what to tell Sam's parents because they ran off together. And then Sam calling, and Lucy being on the other end.. Hahah. I totally laughed out loud in there.
❥ Rating:
Midnight Fairy: 4 Fairy Wings!
Sunburst Fairy: 4 Fairy Wings!
Sunburst Fairy: 4 Fairy Wings!
❥ To whom will you recommend this book to?
Midnight Fairy: This book is perfect for people who are looking for a quick romantic-comedy fix. It's a light, fun-filled read and can be read as a stand alone. I think Ms. Frame's publisher are coming up with a book set of the entire Imperfect series. If you prefer reading the first two in the series, go get yourself a box set ASAP.
Sunburst Fairy: Recommended for readers who loves a good romance-comedy read on a weekend! or just after loads of emotionally-filled books read in many days!
