“Someone wanted her
dead? Laying on a concrete slab in the morgue? She shuddered with the thought.
Who the heck would want her dead? She was a lonely receptionist at an insurance
office with no special skills. She knew how to file, answer phones and do data
entry. Nothing exceptional there.”
“Nothing in her past
helped to explain her kidnapping. She’d been a good girl her whole life. She
didn’t have sex until she was twenty. She never felt comfortable enough with
her body to do something so intimate.
And when she finally did feel good enough to do such a thing, that
relationship didn’t last. The guy turned out to be a jackass. But she did get a
gorgeous necklace from him, so that was a plus. There was only one other guy
that had been in her life and that was Sean, her best friend. He had always
been there for her. Until one day, he just wasn’t. Things changed so fast in
that time. It had been just over three years ago. She thought they were going
to be more than friends, well she really hoped. Things were leading up to it.
She felt the chemistry between them, but then he just disappeared. Out to
dinner and gone, no word since. Did this have anything to do with that? Her
mind was running a mile a minute.”
MY REVIEW
Jenn led a sheltered life. She's a good girl, no traffic violations, no enemies, and no skeletons in her closet. She doesn't have many friends and her relationships are sparse.
Sean has been her best friend since they were little. His dad is a bad guy that deals with illegal business. When Sean was old enough, his dad made him deal with some dirty tasks that ate at his conscience and made him feel like he wasn't good for Jenn.

First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Jean Kelso for the invitation to join in her blog tour and for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Jenn led a sheltered life. She's a good girl, no traffic violations, no enemies, and no skeletons in her closet. She doesn't have many friends and her relationships are sparse.
Sean has been her best friend since they were little. His dad is a bad guy that deals with illegal business. When Sean was old enough, his dad made him deal with some dirty tasks that ate at his conscience and made him feel like he wasn't good for Jenn.
For a first time author, this book is pretty good. It has the element of suspense that will keep the readers on edge. The main characters are on the run. Sean and Jenn grew up together. Something happened when they were younger and now they're trying to fix that. They had been apart for three years, because Sean does not want Jenn to be caught up in his messy world. Now that they're reconnected because of some circumstance, the feelings that they have for each other resurfaced.
This love story with bits of danger will surely thrill the readers looking for a snippet of excitement in their read. The scenes are fast-paced, the conversations smooth and natural. It has the right amount of drama and steamy love scenes that's enough to make you hot. The risk they were taking is enough for the reader to keep turning the pages. The book has also some fun times and sappy moments. The best thing is that it ends in happy ever after.
A debut novel is crucial for someone who is reaching for her dreams. This can be a make or break and I want to say that the author is brave enough to venture on this. Congratulations Ms. Jean Kelso, well done!!

Jean is just a small
town girl looking for a little adventure. With her love of reading and writing
she wanted to explore and see what her characters could do for her. Being a
full time nurse, a wife, and mother of two boys, she has her hands full, but
takes the time to dream among the pages. She is a true blooded Canadian and
