Hi! I'm back with my 2nd book. When I saw this book I instantly fell in love with it. You'll know why in a bit. Any guesses? Okay. Let's get it on.
THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER FAIRY presents you to her..
SECOND MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK of 2014
The Winner's Curse
(The Winner's Trilogy #1)
by Marie Rutkoski
Expected publication: March 4th 2014
Winning what you want may cost you everything you love As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions. One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin. But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined. Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.
I bet you already know why I'm in love with this book. The cover is just so elegant & enchanting. When I first saw the cover of this book, I spent two (2) minutes just by looking at it. Everything is perfect right? The color & design of her dress, her hair, her lips, the font of the book's title and author's name, What kind of sorcery is this?? If I were to rate it right now, I'm going to give it a PERFECT FIVE gorgeous fairy wings.
Fantasy + Romance = Perfect Combination!! Next, the blurb.. I love love love it. It completes the whole package. Another PERFECT FIVE shining & shimmering fairy wings.
Anyway, that first line is very much intriguing. Winning on what exactly? Deadly games? How deadly? I have a lot of questions and I'm looking forward for them to be answered.
Honestly, having to have only two (2) choices is tough on Kestrel's part. A person should ONLY be married to someone he/she loves and NOT by any other reason. Do you agree? I am very much interested with the new world the author created. To join the military or get married? Can I choose the word OR?
Lastly, Kestrel & Arin? I dunno but I have a thing for unique names. I gave this book another
PERFECT FIVE glowing fairy wings.
For my bookaholic friends..
What can you say about the cover? Isn't it lovely?
