BLOG TOUR - OVERTIME by TONIE ALEO + REVIEW by the Rock Chick Fairy + GIVEAWAY

THE FAIRIES ARE VERY PROUD TO BE A PART OF THIS TOUR FOR TONI ALEO'S NEW BOOK...

OVERTIME!

This book is something that you definitely should not miss!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Down and out with an injury keeping him away from the game, Assassins’ defenseman Jordie Thomas lives for the blades of his skates on the ice and the feeling of oblivion off it. With no choice but to heal, he’s forced away from the sport that runs through his veins. With everything at stake and darkness setting in, he quickly finds himself spiraling even further out of control. As his life begins to come crashing down around him and his contract with the Nashville Assassins on the line, he’s given an ultimatum. Ready or not, Jordie is forced to face his past, the fears that consume him, and the one woman he let walk away.

Kacey King had her professional dreams come true, yet her heart was battered and broken. With an Olympic gold medal around her neck, she’s ready to look forward to the future but without the one man she wanted in it. She’s missing the key pieces of her heart she left months ago with the only person who was capable of destroying it, causing her to falter in all her plans to move on.
>In the game of life, there are winners and losers, and neither Jordie nor Kacey want to be on the losing bench. If only Jordie could convince Kacey he’s a changed man and that he wants her right by his side as his MVP for the biggest and best parts of a life they build together. With emotions running high and the game on the line, can two proud people find happiness with each other, or will their hearts and souls be left in the cold? Will they see that sometimes having someone by your side who knows the good, bad, and broken is better than going it alone and losing everything through the back of the net? They are out of time on the game clock and fighting for the win of their lives.

But overtime was made for an Assassin like Jordie.

I think one of the best things about reading a book is that you get to know a character from the beginning, root him and watch him succeed. This is how I felt reading this book.

This is how I feel for Jordie.

Jordie and Kacey's story is a long and rough one. I kid you not. It really is rough. This book is not for the faint of heart since it deals with a spectrum of things. Love, alocoholism, grief and many more.

Kacey is a woman who knows what she wants. She's lively, driven and she takes care of the people around her. I love it that she's like that. I always idolize characters who are go getters. Kacey belongs to that group now. There's a down side to it though. She wants to be independent that sometimes, she's so hard headed that I want to go inside the book and shake her! I also love it that she gives people a chance. I know, I know, those who have read the book will probably tell me that this was one of her problems (you know who I mean), but really, it's a plus for her character because it shows that she tries. :) I think her character also rocks because she forgives. Mind you, it has been hard for her... really hard, so she has the right to keep grudges. I'm just thankful that she didn't let this grudge eat at her.

Jordie on the other hand, is tired. Tired of all of his issues. Tired of running away from problems. He's tired of that, so he decided to go and be better. That's his best trait- when he wants something, he does everything to go get it (my observation and also according to someone from the book). That's what I love most about him too. He had issues, he stood, picked himself up, tried hard to keep straight and faced his fears. He's also very good at apologizing. I love him because you know that when he talks, it comes straight from the heart. He's totally sincere, he would make you cry. :( Which is why I sorta hated (a little) Kacey when she wouldn't listen to his explanation. Honestly, I can say that he's the best guy character in this series so far. He's the turn-your-self-around-completely kind of guy, you can't help but like him!

What happened to them wasn't easy, so it's totally understandable that to fix it was going to be hard. I think what matters there is their conviction on fixing things. Both of them want to make it work, so they both work for it.

Anyway, these two talk their issues out with the help of the people around them. Honestly, this book wouldn't have been this great if it weren't for the other characters. The team, the family, friends... They were all there to support the both of them.

You have to look forward to everything that this book has to offer. Prepare to be touched by the force that is Jordie. Have some hankies ready because as hot as this book is, it's also a darn tear jerker.

All in all, the plot of this book is unique. It's heavy, but it's also something that you have to root for!
